"Feeling Good, Having Fun"

People work out for many different reasons. Chief among them are the desire to reduce stress and to feel good. But, research shows that if you gut it out but dislike your exercise, you will be more stressed and miserable than when you began. It's important that your program be enjoyable. It should be fun, varied and challenging.

The majority of sports activities involve coordinating your hips and legs, then the back and upper body. I believe that this action is partly why these activities are fun. They are kinesthetically pleasing: power and coordination of motion just feel good. Olympic-style weightlifting is the distillation of that power and coordination. It develops them better than any other exercise, also.

Our program is unique, in part, because it is based on the very pleasurable motion of Olympic-style weightlifting. It's fun. And the variety of exercises we have derived from these lifts are fun, too. By providing variety, we hope to maintain your enthusiasm and interest.

Program changes are scheduled very six weeks because studies have shown this allows enough time to get the most from an exercise. Researchers who monitored adrenal output during exercise discovered that its output increases during the first four weeks after an exercise is introduced. It levels off in the next two weeks and after that it decreases. When adrenal output is low, interest is low.

We provide guidelines for increasing the intensities of your workout, too. Think of it as controlled challenge. By gradually increasing the challenge level of a workout, we hope you will maintain interest and maximize the benefits of your program.

If you are in it for the long haul, and we hope you are, exercise must be meaningful and based on a sound training program that is fun, varied, and challenging.
